Annual Fund

Each year, Rice depends on the generosity of all the members of the Rice Family to make contributions on behalf of the Annual Fund.

These unrestricted funds are used to bridge the gap between the cost of tuition and the actual cost of educating a student. The “gap” is approximately $3,000 per student.

By contributing to the schools’ operating budget, the Annual Fund is used primarily to augment the schools’ program offerings, faculty compensation, technology advancement, financial aid programs and maintenance to the physical plant.

Gifts of Cash: There are three easy ways to make a gift to Rice:
1. Call us at 212-369-4100 x17. We accept Visa and Mastercard.
2. Email us at llewis@ricehighschool.com.
3. Fill out a pledge form and mail a check to the Development Office, Rice High School, 74 West 124th Street, New York, NY 10027.

Matching Gifts: Many companies will match contributions made by an employee (and those of a spouse). Please inquire whether your employer has such or program and, if so, obtain the proper forms to forward to Rice. The donor receives credit for both the original gift and the amount of the match.

Securities: Gifts of appreciated securities may offer significant tax advantages to the donor and are very simple to arrange. Credit is given and a tax deduction is allowable for the value of the mean of the high and low prices of the stock on the day of the transfer of the securities to Rice High School. Please call the Development Office for further information on how to arrange a transfer at 212-369-4100 x17.

The O’Sullivan Society: Named for Br. O’Sullivan, the second Principal of Rice High School, The O’Sullivan Society recognizes those individuals who have included Rice High School in their estate plan or will. Rice welcomes members who have created their estate planning gifts through provisions such as charitable remainder trusts, retained life estates, gifts of life insurance and bequests.
